Alexandria by Hire Car

Alexandria is an inner city area in Sydney close to Eveleigh and South Sydney. Rental cars are usually a little cheaper in this area as it has to compete with many inner city and CBD car rental locations that are better situated to take advantage of business and travel customers.

If you are staying in or around Alexandria, then you might want to consider hiring a smaller car and exploring Sydney’s inner west. The cafe culture of nearby Newtown is famous in Sydney as are its many restaurants. Nearby Eveleigh occasionally hosts aboriginal cultural festivals too. You are also within very easy distance of the CBD of Sydney which is great for shopping and site seeing. You are within easy driving distance (almost walking distance) of icons such as the Opera House and Harbour Bridge too.

If you want to travel out of the city, then Newcastle is only an hour to the north across the Harbour Bridge. Wollongong is about an hour to the south and if you go west you will get to the beautiful Blue Mountains which is a favourite retreat of over-worked Sydney people. Canberra is about 4 hours south too and is worth a visit if you like museums and galleries.
