Bankstown is a well populated suburb of Western Sydney, Australia’s economic capital. It’s also close enough to the Sydney CBD that many people commute to work daily.

This also means that there are a lot of car rental options in Bankstown which keeps competition up and prices low – great if you’re planning to rent a car out here.

In terms of things to do, Bankstown is a good spot from which to explore by car. All of the attractions of Sydney such as the Opera House and Harbour Bridge are well within driving distance and you can also go west to explore the wonderful Blue Mountains – a weekend favourite of many over-worked Sydney-siders. There are also various accommodation options in Bankstown if you are planning to stay for a while and you can find hotels to suit most budgets.

If you want to go further than the city, then Wollongong and its beautiful beaches lie about an hour to the south and Newcastle is about 90 minutes to the north. Beyond those places, Canberra is about 3 hours away.
