Ayers’ Rock Airport serves the area of Ayers Rock – one of the most famous landmarks in Australia and destination for tens of thousands of visitors every year. One very important thing to remember is that Ayers’ Rock Airport is not served by taxis. Your only options are car rental or one of the shuttle bus services that can also take you to your accommodation.

Luckily within the airport there are also a few different car rental options available. That keeps things at least a little competitive in this very isolated part of the world.

Around Ayers’ Rock Airport, you are probably going to want to go straight to your accommodation or to the Rock itself to take a tour or start taking photographs.

If you want to go further, then the next major city is Alice Springs and it is many hours by car. After that you can go north to Darwin or south to Adelaide, but bare in mind that you are in an extremely isolated place (look at the map!) and that any drive will be a quite major undertaking and require a lot of time.
