Belmont by Car Hire

Belmont is an outer-lying suburb of Brisbane in Queensland that has a surprising amount of car hire companies. It lies about 15v kilometres to the east of the Brisbane CBD.

If you are staying in this area of Brisbane, car rental is actually a pretty good option. The area is moderately served by public transport including busses, but the distances make car rental far more convenient. You are then able to easily explore the water side suburbs of Wynnum and Manly as well as get into the centre of the city a lot more easily (though it can take some time in peak hour traffic so try to avoid those times).

If you are using Belmont as a base, then you can very easily get to the Gold Coast and Surfer’s Paradise in about an hour by going south along the Gateway Arterial Road then onto the Pacific Highway. If you want to go to the Sunshine Coast from Belmont, then the Gateway Arterial can take you north across the Gateway Bridge (toll bridge) and then up the coast to Caloundra, Mooloolabah and Noosa.
