The Gold Coast by Hire Car

Location: Gold Coast > Queensland

The Gold Coast on Queensland’s south east coast is perhaps the most famous tourist resort destination in Australia. It is also a very geographically large area that extends many tens of miles and as such, is probably a good place to consider having a hire car if you are planning on a visit. While the Gold Coast is a beautiful place, it is not very well served by public transport.

Within the Gold Coast itself are a lot of different things to do from exploring the many beaches through to eating at great restaurants in Surfer’s Paradise. There are also hundreds of hotels and motels to cater to every budget so you will almost never have problems finding a place to stay except in November/December when Australia’s schoolies congregate on the Gold Coast to celebrate the end of their school life.

If you have a car, you will also easily be able to get to the theme parks on the Gold Coast. The main ones are Dream World and Warner Brother’s Movie World and other minor theme parks also abound with Cade’s County Water Park being among them. All of these are very easily accessible by rental car and busses also run but can be a little irregular.
